Jim’s Cares

Did you know that every dollar you spend in the Jim’s Pharmacy over-the-counter department benefits our community?

That’s right, your purchase of toothpaste, shampoo, vitamin D, and ibuprofen contributes to our Jim’s Cares monthly charity program!

In addition to donating a portion of profits from OTC sales, Jim’s Pharmacy also accepts cash donations at each of our checkout stations. We frequently host fundraisers like bake sales and contests, with proceeds benefiting the Jim’s Cares monthly charity.

Have you seen our used book bin, right outside the store? Next time you stop in, be sure to browse the bin for your next good read. Jim’s Pharmacy donates 100% of proceeds from the sale of gently used books to the program. We accept donations of gently used books too, so keep us in mind when you’re ready to pass on that page-turner you’ve been reading.

Since 2008, when our monthly charity program (then called Shop with Loyalty, Shop Locally) was started, Jim’s Pharmacy has donated over $100,000.00 to local charities. Thank you for helping us help those in need!

The Jim’s Cares charity for the month of February 2024 is the Port Angeles Dream Playground.

The Children of Port Angeles, Washington dreamed up something special, and our community pulled together to make their dream a reality. You can be part of the community’s effort to rebuild and make it happen again for a special place for families and children to gather and have fun!

The Port Angeles Dream Playground was built over five days in September of 2002 by more than two thousand volunteers with tools and equipment loaned by the community and is one of the largest volunteer projects Clallam County has ever seen. This amazing effort was akin to an old-fashioned barn-raising with people of all ages participating in the build. Over $185,000 was raised to pay for the construction. Most of the funds came from a host of local businesses and more than 10,000 individual contributors.

In 2009, the volunteers became restless and created an 800 square-foot pavilion adjacent to the playground.

In 2016, the tasks we completed were:
-fence repair (wanted to keep those engraved pickets pretty)
-ground cover- added 120 yards of new material!
-painted tower tops
-miscellaneous small repairs
-general cleanup

2023, destroyed by a fire and needs the communities help to rebuild.  You can donate here with monetary donations, or purchase your over-the-counter items where a portion for the month goes to the charity from Jim’s and its customers. You can also send a check made payable to:

Dream Playground Foundation, PO Box 416
